The Alberta Department of Carrier Safety will be on hand to discuss ELD enforcement in Alberta as well and their new carrier compliance program.  
Alberta Labour & Immigration Supply Chain logistics will discuss current workforce Transportation Grants among other speciality programs designed to help the Transportation industry obtain and train workers.  The AMTA will provide an update on the Aztec Hydrogen Program.  Enviro Apps will present on Transportation of Dangerous Goods Digital documents and how transforming form paper based to digital can improve compliance efficiency and reduce costs.  Panel of 3 fleet safety representatives discussing programs that they have implemented into their fleets that have improved safety and efficiency. After a moderated panel will delve deeper into the programs, how they were implemented & lessons learned along the way.  The audience will also have a chance to ask questions of the experts as well.

MEDIUM & HEAVY DUTY ELECTRIC VEHICLE FLEET TRANSITIONING - Video

On July 11th Transport Canada opened a Medium & Heavy Duty Vehicle Incentive program that will provide a total of $547.5 million of incentives over 4 years, up to a maximum of $100,000.00 per vehicle. There are also federal and provincial funding programs for infrastructure. This panel will explain how the grant program works, how you can access the funds, and how you can leverage these funds to transition a fleet from a diesel fleet over to a zero tailpipe emission electric vehicle.

SCREENING FOR COGNITIVE IMPAIRMENT:  ONTARIO'S ENHANCED ROAD TEST

This presentation provides an overview of a new cognitive road test developed by the Traffic Injury Research Foundation (TIRF) for the Ministry of Transportation in Ontario, Canada (MTO). TIRF developed and evaluated the Enhanced Road Test (ERT) in 2016 to assess a driver’s cognitive fitness to drive. It was designed to flag individuals for potential cognitive impairment and help distinguish between those drivers fit to drive and those not fit to drive. The presentation summarizes research evidence on fitness to drive and cognitive impairment, describes the different components of the ERT, discusses key findings from this study, and reviews conclusions as well as next steps for drivers, employers and owner operators.
