PMTC Young Leaders Group

In 2012 the PMTC Board of Directors was approached with a suggestion that we start a committee of young industry professionals under the age of 40 that would assist the Board with creating events that would be of interest to a younger demographic, and to openly discuss career path, mentoring, and other subjects of interest to this particular group.

The Board of Directors enthusiastically endorsed this idea and the Young Leaders Group was born.

The Private Motor Truck Council of Canada’s Young Leaders Group (YLG) is a collective of the next generation of professionals within the PMTC. The groups primary objectives are to promote professional and personal growth through different networking and development opportunities focused on the needs of the transportation industry.
“I look forward to working with this outstanding group of young professionals, who will help advise the PMTC, our members, and the industry on how to best attract, retain and work with not only the current generation of young workers, but help our industry find ways to attract the next generation” stated PMTC President Mike Millian
“I am incredibly excited and honoured to be called up to chair the PMTC’s Young Leaders Group. Through my involvement in this group over the past few years, I have witnessed the elevation of our members through the YLG provided speaking opportunities, education bursaries, networking events, and membership requested training initiatives. This membership represents the best in class of our generation in the transportation industry, the ones to call on to speak an events, and the ones to hire when you are looking to add quality, well-rounded individuals to your organization. The efforts of our past board have built an environment that does just that. I am proud to continue on in a bigger role with this group that gives so much back to the industry.” Commented YLG Chair and the Regional Manager of Canadian Operations for CPC Logistics Canada, Leanne Drummond.
