PMTC/Young Leaders Group December Breakfast Raises Money for the Milton Halal Food Bank

For Immediate Release
Milton, On

The Private Motor Truck Council of Canada's Young Leaders Group (PMTCYLG) returned to their annual tradition of hosting a December breakfast meeting to raise funds for a local area food bank this year. The event took place on December 14th in Milton, On. The meeting location was generously donated by Volvo Trucks Canada.
In addition to raising funds to help those in need, attendees also received some valuable education, networking opportunities, and helped plan out the YLG's next year.

The meeting started with John G Smith, VP & Editorial Director for Newcom Media, providing tips on the do's and don'ts of how to be part of a panel presentation, either from the panelists point of view, or how to best succeed as a moderator of a panel if in that role. John has been a skilled moderator of a countless number of panel sessions over the years, and anyone who has seen John in action knows how great of a job he does. The insights that John was able to provide to those in the audience will be invaluable going forward, and the interactive presentation was first class and kept the audience engaged.

Next up Leanne Drummond, YLG Chair, and Regional Manager for Canadian Operations of CPC Logistics Canada, let those in the audience know about some of the YLG initiatives planned for the next year, as well as gave everyone in attendance a sneak peak of the return to the PMTC YLG's Driven to Lead Leadership Training Certificate Program. This program received rave reviews in the past and will be returning for the first time since 2020. The next generation of the program will return in March of this year. Watch for more information on this program in 2023 or go to www.pmtc.ca to check it out. Space is very limited in this program, so if you are interested, you will want to jump on this program quickly!

The meeting closed with a YLG General Meeting for members only, where the group discussed in more details their goals for the next year.
Thanks to the generous donation of those in attendance, the YLG was able to raise $575.00 in cash, plus roughly 50lb's in non-perishable food items, which were donated to the Milton Halal Food bank!

“It was great to see so many PMTC Young Leaders out for our first in person YLG Christmas Breakfast meeting since 2019,” stated PMTC President Mike Millian. The future of our industry in in great hands with the enthusiasm and thirst for knowledge and sharing these individuals show on a constant basis”

Leanne Drummond added; “The room was buzzing with the energy and engagement from our Young Leaders. John G. Smith is such a skilled and entertaining speaker. The YLG is very fortunate to have industry bests volunteer their time to share their knowledge with the next generation of leaders. We are busy working on some great plans for 2023. It's a great time to be involved in the YLG.”
