This position will be responsible for preparing and conducting training programs for current Dot Transportation, Inc. (DTI) drivers and newly hired drivers. You will provide assistance to management in establishing and maintaining Dot Transportation fleet performance in all areas of our business including recruiting, retention, operations, safety & compliance, budgeting, etc. Reports to: The Director of Transportation

Requirements |
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Maintains and updates driver training curriculum. Develops course outline, instructional materials, and evaluation testing for all locations.
- Assists in planning, developing, and implementing safety programs for DTI
- Assists with vehicle safety and compliance related issues
- Assists with recruiting events and safety awareness in the community
- Coordinates training for drivers based on individual performance within key areas.
- Coordinates/conducts all OSHA required driver power equipment training and certification for compliance.
- Supports and audits the on-board computer system and HOS for all drivers.
- Leads continuous improvement efforts while applying lean thinking and tools to eliminate waste.
YOU MUST HAVE
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent Dot Foods experience
- Strong organizational, analytical, and planning skills
- Ability to clearly and effectively communicate in one-on-one and group settings
- Safe driving record
- Ability to independently make decisions and resolve complex problems
- Professional training, teaching, or instructing experience
YOU MAY ALSO HAVE
- Prior management and transportation experience
- Commercial Drivers’ License with dangerous goods certificate (TDG)
- Ability to influence desired behavior change with internal/external customers and vendors
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft office programs
ROLE SPECIFICS
- Schedule – Ability to work flexible hours (weekend, night-shift, and on-call) based on facility needs.
Travel – Approx. 2-3 nights per quarter. Must be able to travel independently as needed within Canada and the U.S., without restriction by all modes of transportation, including car, plane, or train for training or meetings.
