PMTC ANNOUNCES INDUCTEES TO HALL OF FAME FOR PROFESSIONAL DRIVERS

The Private Motor Truck Council of Canada inducted 2 exceptional drivers into the HALL OF FAME FOR PROFESSIONAL DRIVERS during the 2nd day of its annual conference on June 18th in Niagara Falls, On.
The Hall of Fame is sponsored by TruckRight. Drivers from PMTC member companies are recognized for superior over the road performance over an extended period of time. The Hall of Fame provides a permanent recognition of their abilities and can be found on the PMTC website at www.pmtc.ca.
“Professional drivers are the backbone of the industry. The supply chain does not function without the essential service they provide us each & every day. The skills of these 2 professional truck drivers are evident to all who encounter them & are especially valued by the industry & their employers,” said PMTC President Mike Millian. “These professionals compile safe driving records that are beyond amazing, considering all the adverse conditions they face every day. Only a select few can equal the caliber of the drivers in the Hall of Fame. The 2025 inductees are Jason Mooney & Wayne Burnett. Together, the 2 inductees combined for over 65 years and over 6.6 million km's of accident free driving, truly phenomenal numbers.
The Private Motor Truck Council of Canada and TruckRight are pleased to induct these two professionals into the Hall of Fame for Professional Drivers.
Jason Mooney
Coca Cola Canada Bottling Ltd
Jason joined Coca Cola Canada Bottling Ltd at their Brampton Facility in 1997 in the warehouse. After working there for almost a year, Jason accepted an offer to obtain his AZ license through the company's license upgrade program. Jason saw this as an opportunity to try something new, and step outside his comfort zone. Jason took full advantage of this and has invested in improving his own abilities every day, as well as contributing to improving safety at Coke.
Jason is an active member of the joint Health and Safety Committee. Jason also coaches drivers as part of remedial training, post incident training as well as mentoring newly licensed drivers. Jason has led numerous safety & efficiency projects, including route & equipment optimization, hazard reporting process, job & physical hazard analysis, just to name a few!. Jason further plays a critical role as a membership leader for Unifor 973 and actively participates in driver incident reviews with key internal departments such as HR & Transportation Compliance Safety. Jason has proved he is dedicated to being the best he can be, from taking the leap to try something new, and 27 years later Jason has amassed over 2.1million km's and 27 years and counting of incident and violation free operation!
Wayne Burnett
Home Hardware Stores Ltd.
Wayne was born and raised in Rothsay, Ontario. Wayne's journey in trucking began in 1986 with Maple Leaf Foods, where he gained a wealth of experience driving tankers, flatbeds, dump trailers as well as A & B train combinations. Wayne joined Home Hardware in 2012 where he is a valuable member of the supply chain team fulfilling deliveries and backhauls throughout the St Jacob's Ontario network.
Over the years Wayne has participated in numerous truck rodeo's, consistently placing 1st & 2nd in both the train & single classes at regional, provincial & national levels since 1999. Wayne achieved 1st place at the regional competition 5 years in a row! During Wayne's career he has amassed 38 years and over 4.5 million Km's of accident and violation free driving.
At Home Hardware Wayne also participates on the Collison Review Committee & the Driver Committee, with the purpose of developing operational improvements, feedback on loading conditions, on road improvement as well as vehicle specification improvements.
