The Young Leaders Group (YLG) of the Private Motor Truck Council of Canada (PMTC) are pleased to announce they will be offering the ‘Driven to Lead’ program again in 2020. The first Driven to Lead program was completed in May of 2019, and was an amazing success on all levels, with over 20 people attending individual module’s, and 12 people graduating from the entire 4 module course! We are also thrilled to have KRTS Transportation Specialists Inc. (www.krway.com) and TransRep Inc. (transrep.ca) committing to be the title sponsor of this program for the second straight year!!

“Their support of this program, and their commitment to the education of transportation industry professionals is second to none. Their commitment to this program helps subsidize the costs for those who register to attend”, stated PMTC President Mike Millian.

“Education is part of our core business at KRTS Transportation Specialist Inc and Transrep Inc. Our future leaders need to have the availability to be offered first class programs like those created and delivered by Eagles Flight. We have many valued customers who are members of the PMTC and continuing on as a sponsor for the second Driven to Lead program was an easy decision” commented Jamie Richardson-Phillips, Business Development and Customer Care of Transrep.

The ‘Driven to Lead’ program is an experiential, practical leadership program that will take participants through hands-on and impactful exercises focusing on topics like culture, teamwork, accountability and strategy. It is intended for both up-and-coming and current leaders who are looking to advance and develop their personal and professional skills.

The program will once again be facilitated by Eagle’s Flight (www.eaglesflight.com) at their facility in Guelph, Ontario. Eagle’s Flight is known as a global leader in education for their approach to delivering training programs that are business-relevant and invoke lasting behavioral change.

The program consists of four separate full-day modules. Participants can elect to complete the entire ‘Driven to Lead’ program or select individual modules. Graduates of the entire program (all four modules) will receive free registration for the PMTC’s annual conference in June of 2020, a value of $640.00 for a nonmember and $540.00 for a member. Graduates will be presented with their diploma during a ceremony at the conference. Graduates of individual modules will receive a certificate of completion for the module(s) they complete.

Sud Malhotra, Fleet Manager @ Powerbev Inc.

Earlier this year, I participated in the Driven to Lead program, hosted by the PMTC Young Leaders group and sponsored by KRTS and TransRep. By participating in this course I have learned how to communicate more impactfully and effectively with my team and different strategies for coaching, leading and building stronger teams within the company. By implementing the strategies learned, we as a team have created a stronger sense of culture within the company! The learnings and takeaways from this program are invaluable and serve me and my team everyday. I am so thankful for the opportunity to have participated in and completed this program!
